For 5 year olds to adult
From string quartet to heavy metal band, playing in a group helps students maintain focus and build confidence in their musical abilities.
Bands and ensembles are a great way to be involved in a group as a student. They are extremely focused and a teacher is always present to direct all aspect of group performance, from musical composition to choreography.
What's the difference between a band and an ensemble?
Traditionally ensembles are comprised of same or mixed groups of classically based instruments such as violin, classical guitar, flute, piano, etc.
Bands, on the other hand, are usually made up of various combinations of drums, bass guitar, guitar, saxophone, keyboard and vocals. Our students come together to form all sorts of band styles from jazz to swing and rock.
Designed to match each students skill level
All bands and ensembles are grouped into level of competency. Beginners are encouraged to play in a junior band within 6 months of starting lessons. Junior bands learn to play 4 songs and are invited to perform at concerts for parents and friends along with other groups from the school.
