courses for young children use fun characters to make the learning process more entertaining

There are 4 levels - each associated with an animal character. Each level is designed to be completed within 10 weeks (one School Term). There is no expectation that the student will complete a level within this time as each child is different and learns at a different rate. The main aim is that the children have great fun and learn some of the basic requirements for the "Music for Little Mozarts" program.

The group lesson is a structured 30 minutes each week which includes:
  • Singing the Hello Song
  • Movement to Music
  • Colours/Whiteboard and Pictures
  • Song and Dance
  • Singing the Goodbye Song
  • Teacher/Parent Feedback

What is the role of the parent?
Parents are more than welcome to attend the class, however, the class can run without parental involvement and is sometimes advisable so that the children have the opportunity to interact with one another independently. The class is very well structured and is run to a strict timetable in order to keep the youngsters entertained for the full 30 minute session. Students are encouraged to attend...

...presentation days in which they participate. This should take a high priority as it builds self-esteem for young child. All family members are welcome including Grandparents to make a big fuss of the child.

What is the role of the parent?
Parents must keep in close contact with the teacher and share in the learning process. Some teachers even encourage parents to attend lessons. Parents must supervise practice and read directions to the student. In addition to practice sessions at the piano, parents should discuss the course work with the child and listen to the compact discs together as a family.

What is the role of the children?
To have fun and experience the joy of music. The music they learn will last a lifetime.

What is the role of the teacher?
To positively reinforce learning objectives with their students and to act in a professional manner, always giving feedback on how your child is performing. It is our job to teach to the highest possible standard without compromising the fun and enthusiasm music can provide.
